A custom Lamborghini model once owned by former President Donald Trump is set to go up for auction soon.

The 1997 Lamborghini Diablo VT roadster is set to go up for auction at an event later this month held by Barrett-Jackson at its headquarters in Scottsdale, Arizona, from January 20-28 as Lot #1407. Founded in 1971, Barrett-Jackson is one of the premier global auction houses dedicated to collector cars.

The specific model up for auction is listed by the company on its website as having a "Blue Le Mans" exterior paint color, which it claims was not an available shade when the car was first on sale and was done exclusively for the businessman, and interior of cream and black. The model boasts 12 cylinders, a 5.7-liter engine, and a five-speed manual transmission.

According to the Barrett-Jackson listing, Trump owned the vehicle until 2002 when he sold it to an unlisted buyer. The former president is, therefore, not involved with this new sale of the vehicle, despite his prominence in the listing for it. The vehicle does, however, retain a plaque on one of its doors reading "Donald Trump 1997 Diablo."

"What makes this Diablo stand out is the fact that it was ordered new by former President Donald J. Trump, who owned and drove it until he sold it in the summer of 2002," the listing explains. "Trump was allowed to custom-order this Diablo because of a special relationship with Lamborghini, which provided him with some 'loaner' Diablos for brand and model promotional purposes. Trump special-ordered this Diablo in a Blu Le Mans paint color, which was not offered in 1997, making it the only Diablo painted in this shade for 1997."

The listing continues later: "The sale includes the car's manuals/books, two tool bags, and a car cover. This one-off Trump-owned Diablo combines Lamborghini supercar history with American presidential history. This Lamborghini has had two owners since Trump's ownership. CARFAX shows mileage inconsistency on 08/09/2003."

He has long led the race by a considerable margin, with national polling averages consistently giving him near or over 50 percent support from likely Republican voters.
