With just a few clicks, you can send a virtual Valentine’s Day card to a patient at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, the famed children’s hospital in Memphis, Tenn., which has clinics across the country.

To spread a little love, go to the St. Jude website and pick one of the cards designed by a current or former patient, then pick a pre-written message — such as "You make today awesome for your friends and family just by being you. Happy Valentine’s Day!" — or write your own message in the card, which will be virtually sent to the kids at St. Jude.

The program started as with holiday cards in 2012, a rep for St. Jude tells PEOPLE, and evolved into the Valentine’s Day card exchange.

Over the last 12 years, more than 7.3 million cards have been sent.

Flyers with QR codes that link to cards are posted throughout the hospital, giving patients a chance to scroll through the Valentine's Day cards.

The hospital is also accepting donations for Valentine’s Day. St. Jude treats children with cancers like leukemia and lymphoma — and other potentially fatal diseases such as immune disorders and sickle cell disease — at no cost to families.

Treatment for pediatric cancer can last as long as three years and cost on average $425,000. In some cases, St. Jude notes, care can cost more than $1 million.
